CTO Letter
As the Chief Technology Officer, I am excited to share the compelling story of our journey to redefine spine surgery. Like Steve Jobs upon his return to Apple, where he focused on innovation, we too, post-COVID, reaffirmed our commitment to developing only selected breakthrough technologies that will stand the test of time. Rather than chase the success of large companies selling pedicle screws, cages, and spinal cord stimulators, we aim to create solutions that improve upon existing technologies by orders of magnitude.
We are especially grateful to our founding spine surgeons, who laid the foundation for collaboration between physicians and engineers, a process that remains at the heart of our innovations today. We have proven ourselves in the past with the invention of the MANTIS percutaneous pedicle screw system, which was acquired by Stryker, and we continue proving ourselves with the improvements of MISQuito and FacetFuse transfacet pedicle screw systems.

Our solutions are aligned with the principles of our pioneering Less Exposure Spine Surgery (LESS™) technique, focused on restoring and preserving the natural spine anatomy. When we identify innovative technologies outside of KIC Ventures, we act swiftly to acquire them, such as with AxioMed’s viscoelastic disc and NanoFuse Biologics. We are also embracing emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and smart devices to expand the boundaries of what’s possible.
Our future is bright as we maintain our focus on enhancing patient care and outcomes, rather than competing with others.
Thank you for considering the opportunity to partner with us on this exciting journey. Together, we will redefine the future of spine technologies.
Sincerely,
Vito Lore
